About me

I have always had a keen interest in animals, especially horses. Since learning to ride at the age of eight, I have gone on to complete my training for the British Horse Society stage exams and gained a distinction at National Certificate level in the Management of Horses.

I have been lucky enough to have worked with horses in England, America and Australia for many years. During this time I gained valuable experience and understanding in many of the equine disciplines including horse racing, show jumping, riding school and stud work.

I eventually decided to give up working full time with horses and to concentrate my efforts on becoming an Animal Osteopath specialising in equines. In 2005 I graduated with a first class honours degree in Osteopathic Medicine and went on to complete and pass the Post Graduate Course in Animal Osteopathy, conducted at the Osteopathic Centre for Animals. The course was conducted by Stuart McGregor, one of the world's leading equine osteopaths. In total it has taken me six years to obtain the status of Animal Osteopath.

My equine background and understanding of human and animal biomechanics has allowed me, working as an osteopath, to pursue my interest in the similarity and structural relationship that occurs between horse and rider. For me Osteopathy provides an holistic approach that enables me to treat humans and animals successfully.

Human Osteopathy

As well as treating 'horse and rider' in my mobile practice, I have a purely human clinic in Healing Hands Ltd, Saltburn by the Sea, Cleveland.

In humans, Osteopathy can help relieve acute or chronic problems from back and joint pain to digestive disorders. It can provide relief from pain and dysfunction of an area and contribute to the management of long-term complaints, such as asthma and painful periods.
